For the past fifteen years twice a year my dentist (Dr. Sek L Yuen) and I have discussed my four bottom anchor teeth and how long it would be before they would no longer be of value to me.

You see I enjoy eating corn on the cob and real rye bread. As a senior I have observed the shenanigans of upper and lower denture users. In January when I was in Toronto I discussed with my denturist (John Ioannou) and my dentist my options. I had pursued the web last August and found your organization. I then made an appointment with Dr. Shadid Shadid of Ottawa (a new level of competence, information and understanding that I was surprised to encounter).

As a senior on a fixed income the $10,000 price tag was staggering. I discussed the price with Dr. Shadid Shadid and he said we could come to some arrangement; but as a general rule he didn't arrange personal financing as he has been stung a few times before; but that his assessment of me was that of an honest and straightforward man. The fact that my mother is ninety-six years old and my father died when he was eighty it's quite likely I'll probably be around for another twenty-five years so that $10,000 is a good investment.

As you can see from above the preamble I am most grateful for the Complimentary Assesment and consultations with Dr. Shadid Shadid and your generous grant of $1,125.00

I wish to thank your wonderful staff for the professional and discreet way in which you have dealt with my life-long embarrassing situation. In my late teens I had a full upper denture in place as tooth repair as it was not affordable in my family. At the age of 70, I am finally going to have more stability in my bite and hopefully a more confident smile.

Although the perfect dream was to never have to remove a denture, this is the next best option as I will have sinus lifts in order to have four implants installed and no false palate.

I want to thank the Advisory Group to be a recipient of a grant to assist me in obtaining funds for dental cosmetic procedures. Dr. Emil Hawary of California Smile Design in Irvine, performed the perfect smile for me. Dr. Hawary and his staff were very professional and made me feel very special through the entire procedure. Every step was explained to me and when Dr. Hawary wasn't pleased with any result, things were returned. I was given time for my mouth to heal in between sessions and the finished product made me want to do nothing but show my beautiful smile. For the weeks after the procedure, I showed everyone my new smile and told them about the grant program and the ease at which the procedure was done WITHOUT ANY PAIN.

At the photo session, I felt very special and excited about being able to show off my smile. When I was walked out of the office, all I wanted to do is show off my smile. I am still smiling a singing Dr. Hawary's praises.

I have been having trouble with my teeth for the last few years and like many parents had been neglecting my own dental health in favor of my Children's, and well all the years of neglect caught up with me last fall so after seeing a dentist as well as a denturist I went online one night to research implants and by accident I came across the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant Program and have been Thankful ever since.

From the application process to my arrival at Dr. Kochman's office and beyond I have had wonderful and informative people by my side. All of my fears seemed to disappear; it is not like walking into a dentist's office at all, it is more like walking in to a friend's home and right from the start Yvonne put me at ease and his staff is friendly as well as very informative. If you have a question they have the answer.

I have a horrible time having x-rays done and my hometown dentist gets annoyed with the fact that it takes me a while to have it done however the wonderful staff at Dr. Kochman's had no problem with letting me take my time and did not pressure me to get it done. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing set of x-rays I have ever had done.

I am so very Thankful that the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant is available. With your help I will be sporting a wonderful new smile in the next few months as I am well on my way  to secure the monies I need to have my procedure done. I am looking so forward to and that had long been a dream of mine since it was not great in the first place (I have always had missing teeth they just never came in ) and something I could have never even thought about archiving without your help.

I would like to give a big thank you to the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant Program so much. I was not a believer when I initially started the process. At first, I thought it was a scam just to get me in the dentist chair. I received my free consultation and not to my surprise I had to have root canals and cleanings but it was to be expected since I hadn't been to the dentist in years. And of course I was sent to Dr. Buckler who I had mixed feelings about.

Four months later I finally got the preventative work done and now I want to schedule my appointment to start the lumineers but I don't know how much it will cost but my Dr. Buckler got a fast answer for me. How surprised was I when he said "$3,000". That was the cost of one of my bridges I finally wiped the sweat off of my forehead because I was relieved. I can honestly say I thought the program was a fake but I have experienced from start to finish and now have my perfect smile.

Since the age of 12 I have been going to dentists trying to keep my teeth but when you are poor you really cannot afford dental care and I have gone hungry trying to take care of my teeth and now at the age of 61, I have to have total reconstruction of my mouth and will have to have almost all of my teeth replaced with implants which is atleast $60.000. I have been unable to sleep at night since I am having nightmares of losing my teeth at this point and replacing with dentures.

I was at the end in using my personal savings to cover the cost of my implant and cosmetic dentistry surgery. I was seriously considering postponing the last stage of the dentistry surgery until I had sufficient saving again to cover the remaining cost. My mouth is in a stage where I could not afford to put off the implant surgery and casting of my mouth for the permanent teeth. With family and other obligations, I would have been forced to put off/cancel  the remaining dental work. This grant will enable me to complete the final stage of the dental work. I thank you for advising me of the Smile Quest Dental office in Rocklin, California. Dr. Charles Smurthewaite has been the only dental professional to really listen to my dental woes, of which I have many stemming back to my early formative years in a third world country.

Let me explain: I have multiple large bridges in my mouth that were installed while in my early 20's. In the Philippines where I grew up, they would extract teeth rather than save them. Nothing was done to address the crookedness of my front teeth, nor the clicking sounds my jaw made. I came to the US and had many of the gaps in my smile "fixed" with dental bridges. Now thirty years later, I find that the bridges no longer fit well and are in constant need of repair. Many have broken through the years, or the cement holding them in have degraded and loosened. I have also since discovered that my sinus cavity has been slowly dropping into the area where the roots of my original teeth should have been. Needless to say that I was always conscious of my not-so-happy smile.

Dr. Smurthewaite has formulated a treatment plan for me that will address almost all these problems, including the bone loss in my jaws. So even though the immediate benefit from all his hard work will be what people will notice first, my smile, he will also take care of all the other issues that would have affected my health over the long term. This is so important to me that my husband and I are taking loans from out retirement plan at work to finance my treatment plan up front.

I am truly thankful for the dental award grant from your organization. How lucky I was to stumble across your website one night! I had no idea that others would even care about the dental woes of complete strangers . . .and the offer of money was even harder to believe. After more than 20 years of dealing with the physical conditions of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus, my teeth were damaged with sever decay.  Finding the OAAG on the internet and applying for the dental grant in March 2011 allowed me to find Dr. Mercurio.

Dr. Mercurio’s office was in good proximity for me, and I had even passed his office many times on my way to my sister’s home.  This distance made it easy and convenient for me to have my dental exam and evaluation.
I am most pleased with Dr. Mercurio’s professionalism and compassion while he worked on my teeth, and more importantly I am so pleased with the final outcome of my upper teeth. 

Having this partial grant of $1750 has made the commitment to have the work done by Dr. Mercurio even more enjoyable and affordable.

I am most grateful to all involved in allowing this grant program to exist, and I pray that I may be awarded the full grant to complete my dental work on my lower teeth in the near future.

Wow, all I can say is thank you! This award could not have come at a better time. A few months ago I was in an accident which totaled my car.  On top of that my mom who has been out of work for years reached the end of her savings.

The next step I was told was to put in implants and bridge work, however after spending so much money I have very little left for such an expensive process. Since I was a teenage, I have always wanted a perfect smile. I didn't believe I could have a smile that I was proud of without going through the process of breaking my jaw and braces.  Instead of a three year commitment of pain and heartache, Corey simply reworked my smile via use of a bridge and capping.  He then designed the bridge to create a visually pleasing look that is also technically correct to bite.

Good Afternoon Lola,

So good to speak with you on the phone, and to learn that this is a real and true grant! Life can let you down and although I try to stay positive it is easy to become jaded. Learning that this partial grant is actually real not only helps my confidence and my wallet, it also helps restore my faith in humanity and that there are actually people working to do good in this world. No joke.

My thank you letter starts with a story about a five year old girl who was running for the kiddie swings in a park near her house one spring morning. She ran so fast she got away from her mum and younger bother in the stroller because it was so rare to see a free swing! As she rounded the corner of the fence and torn a blue streak back towards the swings she didn't notice a boy who had gotten onto a swinging steel horse and got hit in the face as she ran past and the two collided. Of course that girl was me, some 21 years ago now, who looked up at her mum and while bleeding in her mother's arms, asked if she was dying.

As you can imagine this broke my mother's heart, not to mention my father's who was not there at the time. Neither of them have ever really forgiven themselves, even though I'm told (and vaguely remember) patting my father's back in the emergency room telling him that everything was going to be alright.

I went through many stitches, and many predictions of what would happen to my adult tooth- "The tooth will fall out." "It will grow in crooked." "It will be black!" None of this happened, so I was quite partial to this tooth that grew in totally straight and slightly yellowed but that had no root and was therefore considered "dead". It was a trooper in my mind, an anomaly and I didn't want to give up on my tooth as it hadn't given up on me.

Unfortunately there was an infection that had been receding the bone little by little over time and it had to be removed. After a particle bone graft and then a block graft from the bone in my hip I'm finally ready to have an implant all these years later. A bridge, which is what my insurance would partly cover, was not an option for me because I did not want to compromise my other teeth and I felt an implant was a better long term fix to a long standing issue. Truly, I've been dealing with this tooth, my 1-1, for most of my life. Feeling that my health was more important then money I decided on an implant and hoped I would be able to manage the financial burden.

My mum was the one that sent me the link for Cosmetic Dentistry Grants, I signed up thinking it was worth a shot but never thought in a million years would I be selected, even for a partial grant. My mum is so grateful because she feels that she has helped in my recovery, and I'm sure this has eased the long standing guilt for not being able to control the uncontrollable.

And that is my story of why I need this implant. So I thank you. Thank you for assisting with the financial burden that will put to rest a life long issue of a troublesome front tooth. A tooth that in the latter years has caused me to talk differently and change my smile so that it was not so broad or beaming because I was trying to hide it. Thank you for the inadvertent affect this has had on my mum, and for really being a real and true group of people who really do care.

I wanted to keep you posted on everything.  I received the dental implants in December just before Christmas. 

Originally when I filled out the application for the grant I mentioned that if I got the implants it would boost my self confidence and enhance my self esteem and that did happen.  When you called me that day I was so excited and left without words to express my feelings. 

Since then I have lost 44lbs and now with a beautiful smile to go with that new look.

The correspondence I had with each of them was phenomenal as every email message was backed up by a telephone call and a letter in the mail. Not only are the associates great, but the team of dentists enrolled in the program are also leading professionals in their field. Dear Cosmetic Dentistry Grants,

I found the website after I went to a dentist and they wanted over $11,000 dollars for some fillings and crowns.  I figured I needed to do some research because on my salary this amount wasn't even feasible. 

I found www.cosmeticdentistrygrants.org and was amazed how easy it was to apply for a grant.  The dentist they recommended was even better than the initial dentist.  Then less than 2 weeks of finishing the required treatment I got an email from Lola and then she called.  I was like thank you so much I would of never thought I would win the grant in the first place but let alone like 2 weeks after I finished the required treatment. 

I believe my soon to be wife is even more excited because "I would never marry someone with bad teeth" even though it was a joke I pretty much went to the dentist for her and now thanks to Lola and her staff I am able to afford 3 new crowns. Thanks for the $4,500 dollars.

When I heard of the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant program I figured it was a long shot.  The application process, however was straight-forward, and I was almost immediately put into touch with Dr. Shadid, an Ottawa professional who really made me feel comfortable and at ease with my case.

After finishing lunch today in my break room (and facing yet another long Friday afternoon) I received a life-changing email.  Following close behind this message was a phone call from the President of Cosmetic Dentistry Grants, Lola.  She informed me that I had won $7000 towards changing my smile, self-esteem level and personal outlook.  I was finally going to get my teeth fixed!  After screaming to my colleagues, calling my sister and boyfriend, I called my mom.  All of them couldn’t be happier for me!  

At first I didn’t know whether to believe it.  It is still sinking in.  For once in my life I can laugh as hard as I want, smile to a new boss at work, or present at a conference without being self conscious. Taking some deep breaths I went back in my office and haven’t stopped smiling since.  Soon enough, I will be smiling with my new, more confident smile!

There are not enough words in the world to let you know how much this means to me.  I am so blessed and lucky to be the recipient of this grant, thank you all at Cosmetic Dentistry Grants from the bottom of my heart.

THANK YOU!!!  Please forgive me for yelling via type, but all caps and exclamations points are necessary in this case - I am so EXCITED and extremely GRATEFUL that I can hardley contain myself!  

I have had a dead tooth in the front of my mouth for 25 years.  I had convinced myself to accept it & get over my dissapointing smile because it was still functional and I knew that I couldn't afford to get it fixed.  But, it has turned dark, is blue and has recently begun to ache in the gums, which I am told is the result of infection.  So, because of the infection, it is something that must be fixed, & as is the case with many others, my insurance doesn't cover any of the procedure. 

I am a stay at home mom of 2 little ones and there is always something else that takes priority over my tooth.  I would just have to deal with a missing upper central incisor soon if it wasn't for this program and I am brought to tears every time I think about it.  This $5300 grant has made me feel so loved by God, & I am so grateful to all of you, the people behind the CDGP.  Please know that your hard work and efforts are so appreciated!  I have never seen myself with a smile that doesn't have to be edited in Photoshop & I can't wait!!!

I’m writing you this letter to thank you with all my heart for the cosmetic dental grant. Fixing my teeth has been a big dream of mine. This is something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time.

When I first applied for the grant I never thought I would be one of the lucky people to receive the generous amount of $9,900.00. Changing my smile is giving me the fresh start that I have been dreaming of. I have always covered my mouth with my hand when I laugh but soon I will have the confidence to show my teeth. I am so happy that I am going to have a smile that I will feel good about.

I would also like to thank Dr. Rubinoff and all of his staff. The day of my assessment I was very nervous and worried but his staff made me feel comfortable. I no longer feel nervous. Now I am excited. Dr. Rubinoff is a wonderful dentist.

I randomly came across the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant website in early July.  I read all of the information and convinced myself I had nothing to lose by filling out the online application form.

Within a day or two I was notified by Colleen Richmond who was assigned to my file and a complimentary assessment was booked with Dr. Mark Kochman.  All of the staff, including Dr. Mark Kochman were so welcoming, professional and made me feel so comfortable.  They conducted a very thorough assessment which surprised me as I had never had that much time invested in assessing my teeth in my entire life.
 
I was delighted when I received confirmation that Dr. Kochman recommended that I be qualified to receive the Cosmetic Dentistry Grant. 
 
On August 27, 2010, my prayers were answered and I received the phone call of a lifetime.  I was informed that I had been selected as a grant recipient in the amount of $19,000.00.  At first, I thought I was going to jump out of my chair but when I was actually able to digest the information I actually began to cry tears of joy.
 
Finally, after all of the negative experiences I have had in the past, I will finally have the beautiful smile I have always dreamed of.  I no longer have to hide behind my smile and I know that it will boost my self esteem and confidence from this point onward.
